Steve: Hi, out there! It's me, Steve! Have you seen Blue, my puppy?

Kids: There she is!

[Blue comes out of her hiding spot and barks happily]

Steve: Come on in!

[Blue throws the ball over to Mailbox before throwing it back at her, Blue barks before running through the doggy door]

[Steve opens the door]

Steve: Oh! Hi! Come on in! Blue and I are just finishing making... (he holds up a newspaper hat) newspaper hats! (he folds the end down & puts it on his head) Wanna see? Great! Come on! (he starts walking) Hey, Blue! Look who's here to join us today! Blue? She was just right here making newspaper hats. Um... (he turns around and sees that Blue has ducked under the table with her newspaper hat, then he turns back to the viewers) Do you see Blue?

Child: Blue's right there!

Child: Under the hat!

[Steve turns around and sees Blue as she pops up from under the table]

Steve: Blue! (he laughs) What are you up to? (he walks over to her) Okay, Blue, you want to make another newspaper hat?

[Blue barks as she shakes her head no]

Steve: No? (he takes his newspaper hat off) You mean you don't want to make another newspaper hat?

[Blue barks as she shakes her head no again]

Steve: Well, okay, (he puts his newspaper hat back on) what do you wanna make?

[Blue leaves a pawprint on the right side of the screen]

Steve: Oh, okay! (He runs over to the pawprint) We'll play "Blue's Clues" to figure out what Blue wants to make?!

(starts singing)

We are gonna play Blue's Clues, 'cause that's a really great game! Yeah!

Steve: Now remember, Blue's pawprint will be on the clues. Blue's Clues. Oh, we have to clean this pawprint up. Hmm, (he touches his newspaper hat and takes it off as he starts wiping the pawprint off the screen) There we go, make it all nice and clean. Hey, you know what we need for Blue's Clues? Our handy-dandy...

Kids: Notebook!

Steve: Notebook! Right! Come on!

[Steve runs over to Sidetable Drawer]

Sidetable Drawer: Blue's Clues, I'm so excited! (opens up her drawer)

Steve: Ooh! (takes out the notebook) Here it is! You know, I can tell I'm really gonna need your help today figuring out what Blue wants to make. Will you help me? You will? Great!

[Start of song]

Steve: Oh, okay, so we gotta find a...

Kids: Pawprint!

Steve: Pawprint! Right! 'Cause that's the first...

Kids: Clue!

Steve: Clue! Yeah! Then, we put it in our notebook. (starts singing) 'Cause they're Blue's Clues, Blue's Clues!

Kids: Blue's Clues!

Steve: (singing)

We got to find another paw print,

That's the second clue.

We put it in our notebook,

'Cause they're whose clues?

Blue's Clues!

Kids: Blue's Clues!

Steve: (singing)

We got to find the last pawprint,

That's the third clue.

We put it in our notebook,

'Cause they're whose clues?

Blue's Clues!

You know what to do!

Sit down in our Thinking Chair and think, think, think!

'Cause when we use our minds,

And take a step at a time,

We can do anything!

Blue: Bow!

Steve: That we want to do! (does jazz hands)

[Song ends]

Steve: Okay, ready? Let's go!

[Blue barks as she appears on the left side and winks at the viewers before disappearing]

Steve: Did you see which way Blue went?

Child: That way!

Steve: Oh, this way! Great! Let's go! (starts walking while singing) We are looking for Blue's Clues, we are looking for Blue's Clues, (notices the yarn in the kitchen) we are looking for Blue's Clues. I wonder where this leads? (follows the yarn carefully) This leads to...

Child: A clue!

Steve: A clue! You think? Well, let's see. This leads to... (follows the yarn over to a table filled with yarn and art supplies) Paper, crayons and glue, yarn with a clue, ooh! Macaroni! (in realization) Wait a minute. (notices the clue on the yarn) Yarn with a clue! Here it is! The clue! (chuckles) Okay, okay, now what do we do?

Kids: Notebook!

Steve: Right! We need our handy-dandy... (takes out his notebook) Notebook. Okay, so, we have yarn. (starts drawing the yarn) That's a long squiggly line that goes around like this, and we have yarn.

Steve: Hmm, so, what could Blue wanna make with yarn? Hmm, yarn... Hmm...

Mr. Salt: (off-screen) Yarn!

Mrs. Pepper: (off-screen) Macaroni!

Mr. Salt: (off-screen) Glue!

Mrs. Pepper: Crayons!

Mr. Salt: Yarn!

[Steve approaches over to Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper at the table with an unfinished macaroni picture frame]

Mrs. Pepper: Macaroni!

Mr. Salt: Glue!

Mrs. Pepper: Crayons!

Steve: Hi, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper, what are you doing?

Mr. Salt: Oh, hi, Steve.

Mrs. Pepper: Hi, Steve, we're making a macaroni picture frame for our new portrait.

Mr. Salt: Hey, can you help us?

Steve: A, A, A macaroni picture frame? Well, yeah! (to the viewers) Will you help too? You will? Great! Hey, then we can look for more "Blue's Clues". (to Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper) Now, about all this here, macaroni.

[Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper walk over to their macaroni picture frame]

Mr. Salt: Look! We're missing a piece.

Mrs. Pepper: Yes, which piece goes here? (points to the outside frame between two blue macaroni shells)

[Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper walk back over to Steve]

Steve: Do you know which piece is missing?

Kids: Yellow wagon wheel!

[Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper walk back to the macaroni picture frame as Mr. Salt places a yellow macaroni wheel next to the two blue macaroni shells on the bottom]

Mr. Salt: Yellow!

Mrs. Pepper: Yellow!

Steve: Hmm, blue shell, yellow wagon wheel, blue shell, yellow wagon wheel, blue shell, yellow wagon wheel! Macaroni! Good job!

[Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper walk back over to Steve again]

Mr. Salt: Uh-oh!

Mrs. Pepper: Uh-oh!

Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper: (in unison) Another piece is missing!

Steve: (points to the top of the macaroni picture frame) Could you show me what piece goes there?

Child: Blue macaroni!

[Mrs. Pepper places a piece of a blue macaroni next to the purple and green macaroni on the top]

Mr. Salt: Blue!

Mrs. Pepper: Blue!

Steve: Hmm, purple, blue-

[Blue barks off-screen]

Steve: (continued) Green, green, purple, blue-

[Blue barks off-screen again]

Steve: (continued) Green, green! Wow! Amazing job with those, their macaroni's!

[Blue barks as she approaches over to Steve]

Steve: (to Blue) Oh, there you are, Blue. You know, I thought I heard you...

Mr. Salt: Hey, I think we are all finished!

Mrs. Pepper: Yes! Thank you for helping us!

[They hold up their finished macaroni picture frame]

Steve: Oh, well, you're welcome, but, but aren't you gonna show us your finished picture?

Mr. Salt: But of course!

[Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper walk over to the refrigerator with a drawing of them]

Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper: (in unison) Let's put it on the... (puts the macaroni frame on the refrigerator) Fridge! Voilà!

Everyone: Ooh! Ahh!

[Steve applauds]

Chorus: (singing) Mail time, mail time, mail time, mail time, mail time!

Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper: (in unison) The mail’s here!

Steve: Right! Come on! 

Steve: (singing) Here's the mail, it never fails. It makes me want to wag my tail. When it comes, I want to wail, "Mail!"

[Mailbox comes in, wearing a newspaper hat as Steve sits in the Thinking Chair]

Mailbox: Mail’s here, mail’s in. I’m bringing it Mailbox!

Steve: (notices the newspaper hat on him) Hey, Mailbox. Did, did that Blue make that hat for you?

Mailbox: Yep. Got a letter for you both.

Steve: A letter for us? (takes the letter) Thanks, Mailbox!

Mailbox: You’re welcome! (leaves)

Steve: We just got a letter!

I wonder who it's from? (opens the letter) It’s a letter from our friends!

All: Hi, Steve! 

Girl: We’re making newspaper hats.

[The kids are seen making newspaper hats]

Boy #1: You get a piece of newspaper and you fold it, and you take that two corners, and fold them in a center, and then you roll it up, you flip it over and roll the other side. Look Like A Little Piece Of Tape,

Boy #2: I think I’m done.

All: Bye, Steve! (they take their bows)

Steve: Bye! (closes the letter) Hey! Blue was just making newspaper hats, remember? You gotta try that sometime. Hey, we still have to figure out what Blue wants to, to make. And we still have to find two more clues. Let’s go! (singing) We are looking for Blue's Clues, we are looking for...

Kids: It’s a clue! A clue!

Steve: (returns, to the viewers) Did you say something? (in realization) Oh! A clue? But, where?

Child: On the table!

Steve: On…On the table? (crouches down and sees the pawprint on the two buttons) Oh! Another one of Blue’s clues! Well, what are they?

Child: Buttons.

Steve: Buttons. One, two buttons. Oh! We need to write this button clue down in our handy-dandy… (takes out his notebook) Notebook. Okay, so, we have buttons. (starts drawing the buttons) So we draw a circle, and another circle. Add some dots. There. Buttons. So, what was Blue's first clue?

Child: Yarn!

Steve: Yarn. Right.

Steve: And now we have one, two buttons.

[An image of buttons pop up on the top right corner]

Steve: So what could Blue wanna make with yarn and two buttons? Yarn and two buttons. I think, I think... (sighs) We need to find our last clue. Don’t you think?

Fifi Felt Friend: (off-screen) Yarn and two buttons, huh?

Steve: Come on. (runs over to the Felt Board)

Freddy Felt Friend: Looks like you need your last clue.

Steve: Yeah! What are you two doing?

Freddy Felt Friend: We’re making masterpieces.

Felt Friends: (in unison) Wanna see?

Steve: Masterpieces? Wow! Yeah!

Fifi Felt Friend: Okay, see if you can guess from my shapes...

Freddy Felt Friend: (finishing his sentence) What our pictures are going to be.

Steve: Oh! (to the viewers) Okay, so we'll try to guess what masterpiece Felt Friends are making. (to Fifi and Freddy Felt Friend) Okay, Felt Friends, we’re ready! Let’s see.

Felt Friends: (in unison) Here we go!

[Fifi and Freddy Felt Friend create a sunflower]

Steve: Hmm?

[Fifi Felt Friend adds a green stem at the bottom of the sunflower and Freddy Felt Friend adds a leaf on the stem]

Child: A sunflower.

Steve: Oh! Of course it’s a sunflower.

Freddy Felt Friend: Great! Ready for one more?

Felt Friends: (in unison) Now what are we making?

Steve: Hmm?

[Fifi and Freddy Felt Friend create a three-scooped ice cream cone]

Child: Ice cream cone!

Steve: Oh! It’s an ice cream cone. Ooh, ice cream. Wow! You really are good at making pictures with your shapes!

Felt Friends: (in unison) That was fun!

Freddy Felt Friend: We love making masterpieces?

Felt Friends: (in unison, to the viewers) Don’t you?

[Freddy Felt Friends licks the ice cream and Fifi Felt Friend dances as jolly music starts to play, Steve gives the viewers a thumbs up and the Felt Friends swap objects]

Steve: Hey, look at that, Blue! Blue?

[Blue appears from the right side of the screen and then disappears]

Steve: (sniffing) Hey, something smells really good. (sniffs) I wonder it is? I'm gonna find it. (starts walking until he comes to the picture frame of Blue inside the bakery) I wonder where it's coming from? (sniffs) It smells like, something baking.

[Blue barks in agreement while nodding her head]

Steve: (sniffs, until he looks at the picture frame) Oh! It’s a bakery! And Blue’s there! Let’s go too. (singing) Blue's Skidoo, we can too!

[Steve skidoos into the bakery]

Steve: Ooh! It smells like... bananas!

Blue: (barks "Bananas!")

[Steve starts walking and sees the Spatula and the Bowl]

Bowl: We're trying to make a banana cake.

Steve: Banana cake? I love banana cake. It's my favorite.

Spatula: It's my favorite too. But we're having a little trouble.

Steve: Oh, it looks like, um... I'm sorry.

Bowl: Bowl!

Steve: Bowl, and, uh...

Spatula: Spatula.

Steve: Spatula, right, hi. Looks like Bowl and Spatula here need our help. You want to help them make a banana cake?

[Blue barks]

Steve: Me too! Then we can look for our last Blue's clue! (to the Spatula and the Bowl] Okay, how can we help?

Bowl: Well, Steve, we need to follow this recipe.

[Blue holds up a recipe]

Spatula: To make our banana cake!

Steve: Let's see. (looks at the recipe) Okay, so, this recipe is uh, two cups of flour, one cup of sugar, two eggs, uh, one teaspoon of baking soda, ooh, a dash of salt, and of course, three bananas for banana cake!

Bowl: Okay! First, let's get all of our ingredients!

[Blue and Steve walk over to the ingredients]

Steve: Hmm, do we need bananas for this recipe?

Child: Yes!

[Blue grabs the bananas and puts it on the side, then returns]

Steve: Oh, yeah! Of course, because it's banana cake. Well, do we need strawberries for banana cake?

Kids: No!

[Blue pushes the strawberries away]

Steve: No. Well, do we need flour, sugar and baking soda?

Kids: Yeah!

[Blue grabs the three ingredients and puts them on the side]

Steve: A sock!

Child: No, silly!

Steve: No.

[Blue tosses the sock away]

Steve: Well, how about eggs?

Child: Yeah!

[Blue grabs the eggs and Steve follows her to the ingredients with Spatula and Bowl]

Spatula: We have all our ingredients! Now, how much do we need of each one to mix in Bowl to make banana cake?

Steve: Well, uh...

[Blue holds up the recipe]

Steve: Let's see. How many eggs does this recipe say?

Child: Two!

Steve: Right! Two eggs! I remember now

[Blue places the eggs into Bowl]

Bowl: The recipe says a cup of sugar! What should we use to measure a cup of sugar?

Steve: Uh... Do you see what we can use to measure a cup of sugar?

Child: That one!

[Spatula grabs the 1 tablespoon cup and picks up a box of sugar]

Steve: One cup of sugar coming up!

[Spatula adds the sugar into the tablespoon cup and dumps it into Bowl]

Steve: Great! Now, (looks at the recipe) how many cups of flour do we need?

Child: Two cups!

Steve: Great! Two cups of flour coming up!

[Spatula adds the flour into the cup and dumps it into Bowl]

Spatula: Okay, now we need one teaspoon of baking soda.

Steve: Okay, do you see what we can use to measure one teaspoon of baking soda?

Child: That one.

[Spatula picks up the teaspoon]

Steve: Oh, the little teaspoon. One teaspoon of baking soda coming up!

[Spatula adds the baking soda into the teaspoon and dumps it into Bowl]

Bowl: Mmm! That's just great!

Steve: Hey, now let's add one, two, three bananas!

[Spatula adds the bananas into Bowl and at the same time, Mr. Salt appears and adds a sprinkle of salt into Bowl]

Mr. Salt: And don't forget, a dash of salt!

Steve: Was that? (confused) That?... Wha?

Spatula: And mix it all up!

Bowl: (singing) Mix-a, mix-a, mix-a!

Spatula: (singing) And pour-a, pour-a, pour-a!

Bowl and Spatula: (singing, in unison) And bake-a, bake-a, bake a cake!

Spatula: We'll bring you some banana cake when it's done, okay?

Steve: Really? Ok, they're gonna bring us some cake when it's done! (gives the viewers a thumbs up)

Spatula: Thank you for helping us make our recipe!

Steve: Hey, you're very welcome and it was very nice to meet you! We'll see you later! (comes back quickly) With that cake! (gives the viewers another thumbs up and runs off)

[Blue skidoos in the frame]

Steve: (singing) Blue Skidoo...

[Steve slips on the sock with a pawprint on it]

Steve: I don't like it when that happens, 'cause I just... you know, I...

Kids: A clue! A clue!

Steve: (quickly walks up to the viewers) Oh, no, no, no, no, no. I-It's alright, I'm okay. See? (moves his body a bit)

Child: No! It's a clue!

Steve: Oh, oh, you see a clue! Where?

Kids: Right there!

[Steve turns around and sees the sock with a pawprint on it, he runs over to it]

Steve: Oh, it's that sock! (laughs) A sock in a bakery? Who would've thought? Oh, it does have Blue's pawprint on it! It's a clue! Okay, okay, I know what to do, we need our handy-dandy...

Child: Notebook!

Steve: Notebook. Yep. Our notebook. Got it right here. Okay, so a sock. (starts drawing the sock) A sock has a line that curves for the heel, and some smaller lines here and here. Right, a sock. So, this sock is our third clue. (in realization) Our third clue! You know what that means? We’re ready for our…

Child: Thinking Chair!

Steve: Thinking Chair! Let’s go! (skidoos back into the living room and sits down in his Thinking Chair) Alright, now that we’re in our Thinking Chair, let’s think! (takes out his notebook and opens it) Okay, so, we need to figure out what Blue—

Blue: (barks) Bow, Bow! 

Steve: (continued) Wants to make. And our Blue’s clues are yarn.

Steve: Two buttons...

Steve: And a sock.

Steve: Hmm. So what could Blue wanna make with yarn, two buttons and a sock? Yarn, two buttons and a sock. Ooh, could she want to use the buttons to button up her sock with yarn?

Kids: No!

[Blue shakes her head no while covering her eyes]

Steve: Well, what else can you make with yarn, two buttons and a sock? Well, maybe the two buttons could be like eyes and the yarn could be like hair. And...

Child: A sock puppet!

Steve: What was that? A sock puppet?

[Blue happily barks as she shakes her head]

Steve: A sock puppet! That’s brilliant! Blue wants to make a sock puppet! She wants to use a sock for the puppet and yarn for the hair and the two buttons for the eyes! We just figured out "Blue’s Clues"!

(singing)

We just figured out Blue's Clues,

We just figured out Blue's Clues,

Because we're really smart!

Steve: Blue, let’s go get our socks and some yarn and some buttons and make sock puppets.

[Steve and Blue are now seen at the table making sock puppets]

Steve: Hmm, let’s see. What now?

Sock Puppet: Ehh. I can’t see.

Steve: Oh, yeah, right. Heh. Two buttons for eyes. Let’s see, (picks up a button and places it on the sock puppet) here's one.

Sock Puppet: Ooh.

Steve: (picks up another button and places it on the sock puppet) And two.

Sock Puppet: Ooh, that is so much better. (to Steve) You are so handsome. (kisses his cheek) 

Steve: (laughs) Okay.

[Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper appear with a sock puppet of their own]

Steve: Oh, look, it’s Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper.

Sock Puppet: Hello.

Steve: Remember what we helped them with?

Steve and Sock Puppet: (in unison) Macaroni!

Steve: Right! The macaroni picture frame. (notices the Felt Friends waving at him and Blue) Oh, and look, it’s the Felt Friends. They're making a picture of the sock puppet.

Sock Puppet: Sock puppet? Where? (turns around and sees the Felt Friends holding a sock puppet) Ooh. (tries to run over to them, but Steve holds him back)

Steve: (laughs) Oh, wait.

Sock Puppet: Hello!

[At the same time, Spatula and Bowl are now seen bringing the banana bread over, the sock puppet sniffs at it]

Steve: Do you smell that?

Sock Puppet: Smells like...

Steve and Sock Puppet: (in unison) Bananas!

Steve: Right! Bananas. Wow! It's a regular puppet making party!

[Blue barks, as the "So Long" song starts playing] 

Steve: (singing) Now it's time for so long!

Sock Puppet: So long? I just got here!

Steve: (singing) But we'll sing just one more song.

Sock Puppet: La, la, la, la, la!

Steve: (singing) Thanks for doing your part,

Sock Puppet: (singing) You sure are smart.

Steve: (singing) You know, with me and you and my dog, Blue.

Steve and Kids: (singing, in unison) We can do...

Sock Puppet and Kids: (singing, in unison) ...Anything...

Steve and Kids: (singing, in unison) ...That we wanna do!

Steve: Bye-bye. See ya later.

[The sock puppet whispers something in Steve's ear and tries to run over to the Felt Friends again, but Steve holds him him back]

Kids: (singing) We can do anything that we wanna do!

Steve: See ya later, bye-bye.

Sock Puppet: Hello, Sock Puppet. (tries to run over to the Felt Friends again, but Steve keeps holding him back)

Kids: We can do anything!

Steve: (to the sock puppet) Say goodbye to everybody.

Sock Puppet: Bye-bye, Sock Puppet.
