Steve: Hi, out there! It's me, Steve! Have you seen Blue, my puppy?

Kids: There she is!

[Blue comes out of her hiding spot and barks happily]

Steve: Come on in!

[Blue throws the ball over to Mailbox before throwing it back at her, Blue barks before running through the doggy door]

[Steve opens the door, holding a flower pot and Blue is behind him]

Steve: Oh, hello. Come on in. We're working in the garden.

[Blue barks as she runs to the left side, Steve cautiously holds the flower pot and sighs in relief, he then looks around]

Steve: Which way did Blue go? (he points to the right side) This way?

Child: No. That way.

Steve: Oh, this way. Thanks. Let's go find her. (he starts walking as he starts singing) We are going to the garden, we are going to the garden, we are going to the garden to do our plants in work. (he scats along as he into the backyard to find Shovel and Pail) Oh, hello, Shovel. Hello, Pail. (he puts the flower pot down on the ground)

Shovel: Hi, Steve.

Pail: Hi, Steve.

Steve: So, have you seen Blue?

Shovel & Pail: (in unison) She just helped us dig a hole.

[Steve scratches his head as a pile of dirt begins to move and then in front of Steve]

Child: Under the pile of dirt.

[Steve notices the pile of dirt moving and then out pops Blue as she barks]

Steve: There you are.

[Blue barks as Steve kneels down next to her and then she whimpers]

Steve: What's wrong, Blue? (pats her head) Do you need something?

[Blue barks as she nods her head and then runs off to the right side, Steve follows her over to the garden hose]

Steve: Oh, you need to water the flowers. Okay, I’ll turn on the water. (he turns on the water and gets sprayed with the garden hose)

Blue: (barks "Uh-oh")

Steve: Okay. You don't need to water the flowers.

[Blue shakes her head no]

Steve: Well, what do you need to do?

[Blue leaves a paw print on the left side of the screen]

Steve: Oh, okay! (runs over to the pawprint) We'll play "Blue's Clues"! That's a great idea! I love "Blue's Clues".

We are gonna play Blue’s Clues, 'cause it’s a really fun game! Yeah!

Steve: Now remember, Blue’s pawprints will be on the clues: Blue’s Clues. Oh. I know what you're thinking. We should probably clean up first, right? Okay. (straightens himself) Nice and pretty, I'm ready, let's go. (runs off to the right side, but then quickly comes back) Oops. I forgot. (chuckles) We should probably clean this up too. (picks up the garden hose and sprays the pawprint away) Hey, wait, you know what we need for Blue's Clues? We need our handy-dandy…

Kids: Notebook!

Steve: Notebook. Right! Come on!

[Steve runs over to Sidetable Drawer]

Sidetable Drawer: Blue’s Clues, I’m so excited! (opens up her drawer)

Steve: Ooh! (takes out the notebook) Here it is! Hey, I think I’m really gonna need your help today figuring out what Blue needs. Will you help me? You will? Oh, good.

[Start of song]

Steve: (singing)

We got to find a paw print,

That's the first clue.

We put it in our notebook,

And now what do we do?

Blue's Clues,

Blue's Clues!

Kids: Blue's Clues!

Steve: (singing)

We got to find another paw print,

That's the second clue.

We put it in our notebook,

Now what do we do?

Blue's Clues,

Blue's Clues!

Kids: Blue's Clues!

Steve: (singing)

We got to find another paw print,

That's the third clue.

We put it in our notebook,

And well, you know what to do!

Blue's Clues,

Blue's Clues!

Kids: Blue's Clues!

Steve: (singing)

Well, we sit down in our Thinking Chair

And think, think, think!

'Cause when we use our minds,

And take a step at a time,

We can do anything...

Blue: Bow!

Steve: That we want to do! (does jazz hands)

[Song ends]

Steve: Come On. (runs into the kitchen and then looks at the viewers) Did you see a clue? Where?

Kids: Behind you!

Steve: (looks around and sees that the bubble with a pawprint on disappears, he then looks back at the viewers) Where's the clue? (turns around on the left side and back to the viewers) I can't find it.

Child: Hurry! Behind you! Quick!

Steve: (turns around and sees a bubble with a pawprint on) Oh. It's a… (sees that the bubble has been popped) …Clue. (walks over to the sink and sees the bubbles with the pawprints on) It is a clue! You know how you can tell it's a clue? Because of the pawprints on it. It’s… It’s… Bubbles! Hey, you know what we need to do now? Write it down in our handy-dandy…

Kids: Notebook!

Steve: (takes out his notebook) Notebook. (starts drawing the bubbles) Just draw a circle, bubble, bubble and bubble. Hmm, so we need to figure out what Blue needs and our first clue is bubbles.

[An image of bubbles appears above Steve's head]

Steve: I wonder what she needs to do with bubbles? Blow bubbles? Count bubbles? (pops the bubbles) Oops. Well, I think we need to look for more clues to figure out what she needs to do.

Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper: (calling, off-screen) Steve! Steve!

Steve: That sounds like our friends… (sees Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper and Blue on the counter with fruits) Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper. (to Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper) Hello, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper.

Mrs. Pepper: Hi, Steve!

Mr. Salt: Hello, Steve! We need your help!

Steve: How can we help you?

Mr. Salt: We're making a fruit salad to have with lunch.

Mrs. Pepper: We need to wash the fruit before we eat it.

Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper: (in unison) Will you help find the fruit we need to wash?

Steve: (to the viewers) Do you think we can help? Okay, great! We'll help find the fruit to wash and then we'll look for more "Blue's Clues".

Mr. Salt: Great!

Mrs. Pepper: Great! First we need to find the fruit that is next to the fruit that has leaves.

Steve: Leaves. Hmm, which fruit has leaves?

Child: That one! It's a pineapple.

Steve: Oh! (points to the pineapple) Oh, the pineapple has leaves on top of it. See? (gives the viewers a thumbs up) Um, now which fruit is next to it?

Kids: Right there! It's orange!

[The orange comes to life as Steve gives the viewers another thumbs up]

Mr. Salt: Fantastic!

Mrs. Pepper: Fantastic!

Mr. Salt: Now we need to find a fruit that is farthest away from the fruit with the most seeds.

Steve: (to the viewers) Can you find the fruit that's farthest away from the fruit with the most seeds?

Kids: That one! It's right there!

Steve: Oh. Oh, the watermelon is farthest away from the strawberries. The fruit with the most seeds.

Strawberries: (jumping up and down, while gloating) We have the most seeds. We have the most seeds.

Mr. Salt: Great!

Mrs. Pepper: Great! Now we need to find a fruit in between a fruit with a leaf and a fruit with a stem.

Steve: Can you find a fruit in between the fruit with a leaf and a fruit with a stem?

Kids: That! That one!

Steve: What? (points to the kiwi) This one? The kiwi?

[Steve gives the viewers a thumbs up just as the kiwi comes to life]

Kiwi: Kiwi!

[Steve looks around in confusion as Blue runs over to the kitchen sink and all of the fruits jump into the colander as the water runs]

Steve: Great job! Now we can look for more… (gets splashed with the water)

Blue: (barks "Uh-oh")

Steve: (finishing his sentence) "Blue's Clues" so I don't get splashed anymore.

Chorus: (singing) Mail time, mail time, mail time, mail time, mail time!

Steve: (to Blue, excitedly) Hey, Blue, the mail’s here!

Steve: (singing) Here's the mail, it never fails. It makes me want to wag my tail. When it comes, I want to wail, "Mail!"

[Mailbox comes in and Steve sits in the Thinking Chair]

Mailbox: Mail’s here, mail’s here! I got one here for you, 'cause that's me! Mail!

Steve: Hello, Mailbox!

Mailbox: Hi, Steve, have I got a letter for you.

[Mailbox opens and Steve gets the letter out]

Steve: Thank you.

Mailbox: You're welcome! (leaves)

Steve: We just got a letter!

We just got a letter!

We just got a letter!

We just got a letter!

Wonder who it's from? (opens the letter) Ooh, it’s a letter from my friends!

[Two girls are seen walking into the bathroom]

Girls: (in unison) Hi, Steve, we're brushing our teeth.

[The first girl turns on the faucet and then the second girls puts the toothpaste on the toothbrush and is seen brushing her teeth]

Girl #2: (while brushing her teeth) I do side to side and up and down. (brushes her tongue) I brush my tongue too.

[The girls spit the toothpaste into the sink]

Girl #1: They're all clean! See?

All: Bye, Steve! (they leave)

Steve: Bye! (closes the letter and smacks his lips) Mmm, tangly. Hey, we better get back to finding Blue's Clues. (curiously) Where did Blue go anyway?

[Blue peeks behind the Think Chair and barks softly, then disappears, Steve looks behind the Thinking Chair until Blue pops up from behind and starts licking Steve's face as he sputters, then runs off, Steve finds Blue with a sock in her mouth and quietly walks over to her and tries to get her but she's too fast for him and runs off]

Steve: (to the viewers) That was my sock.

[A pile of laundry comes out of nowhere and lands on the floor]

Steve: Oh-no, my laundry is all over the place. (walks over to the viewers) No, laundry. Not a clue. (about to walk back, but quickly stops and looks back at the viewers, in realization) Oh, oh! Did you see a clue?

Child: Yes!

Steve: Where?

Kids! Behind you. Behind you!

Steve: (turns around and sees a towel with a pawprint on it) Oh, oh, oh, oh! It's a clue! (runs over to the towel) A clue! It's a...

Child: A towel.

Steve: A towel! Well, this towel is one of Blue's clues. You know what we need? Our handy-dandy…

Kids: Notebook!

Steve: (takes out his notebook) Notebook. Alright, so let's draw our second clue, a towel. (starts drawing the towel) Okay, a line here, wavy line, wavy line. And we have a towel. Hmm, so what does Blue need? Our first clue was?

Child: Bubbles!

Steve: Bubbles, right!

[An image of bubbles pops up on the top left corner]

Steve: And now our second clue is a towel.

[An image of a towel pops up on the top right corner]

Steve: Hmm, so what does Blue need to do with bubbles and a towel? Hmm, we're gonna need to find one more clue. (pops the bubbles) Don't you think? (starts pacing, while thinking) Hmm, bubbles and a towel?

[Another pile of laundry appears as it moves closer to Steve, he looks closely and out pops Blue as Steve jumps up and Blue barks]

Steve: Yep, you said it. We made a mess. Well, let's clean this up and then we can look for more "Blue's Clues".

[The washing machine enters]
