(the viewers go up to the door)

Mr. Salt: Time to go, everybody!

Tickety: Do you have everything?

Paprika: Ready, Mommy?

Steve: Just a minute. I'll get the door. (he opens the door) Hi! You're just in time.

Tickety: Yeah, you're just in time.

(Steve gets lower to the door mat and everyone is there, and Paprika’s grandma and Mrs. Pepper’s mom, Grandma Cayenne)

Steve: Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper are gonna have their new baby, so they're going go, to the baby hospital. Paprika, you're gonna be a big sister!

Paprika: I'm be a big sister soon.

Mrs. Pepper: Goodbye, Paprika. You have a good time with Grandma Cayenne.

Grandma Cayenne: I'm so excited to be here with my Paprika.

Mrs. Pepper: Oh no, where's my baby bag?

Mr. Salt: Oh boy! Can you help find Mrs Pepper’s baby bag? Where is it?

(They look around for the baby bag)

Kid: Right there!

(Mrs. Pepper finds her baby bag which was behind them)

Mrs. Pepper: Thank you.

Steve: Wow! You were such a big help just then.

Mr. Salt: Okay, off we go! Goodbye, Paprika! We'll call you very soon!

Grandma Cayenne: Bye!

Steve: Okay, bye!

Tickety: Bye!

(Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper leave)

Steve: Call us!

Grandma Cayenne: We'll be waiting.

Steve: Okay, here's the plan; Mr. Salt will call us, on the phone, when the baby is born. And then we get to go to the baby hospital.

Grandma Cayenne: Let us know if the phone rings, we'll be in the kitchen!

Steve: Right. Bye.

(Paprika and Grandma Cayenne leave)

Steve: The baby's going to be here soon! I wonder if it's gonna be a boy or a girl? What do you think? Really? Well I guess we just have to wait and find out.

(Blue tells Steve an idea)

Steve: Yeah. We should do something special. You know, to welcome the new baby.

(Blue leaves paw print on the left side of the screen)

Steve: Oh! We can play Blue's Clues to figure out what we should do to welcome the new baby. I love Blue's Clues.

We are gonna play Blue’s Clues

Cause it’s a really great game, yeah!

Steve: So remember, Blue’s paw prints will on the clues: Blue’s Clues. Hey, Paw Print? (the paw print comes to life) What were you like, as a baby?

(The paw print shrinks to show him what it was like when it was a baby)

Steve: Oh! Look how tiny, Paw Print was. Wow.

(The baby paw print leaves)

Steve: (to the viewers) Hey what were you like as a baby? Really? You know, maybe later on, I can dig out my old baby book, and we can look at some of my baby pictures. Like there's this one, where I get to eat a banana. Oh! But first, you know what we need to play Blue's Clues. Our handy-dandy…

Kid: Notebook!

Steve: Notebook, right. Come on.

(Steve then goes over to Side Table Drawer)

Steve: Hey, Side Table.

Side Table: Hey, Steve. (she opens her drawer)

Steve: What's this? (Steve reaches in the drawer, and gets out a picture of Side Table when she was a baby) Is this your baby picture?

Side Table: Yeah, that's me.

Steve: Wow! Look at you as a little baby drawer! What's that you're holding?

Side Table: My yi-yi. I mean, my pacifier. Because when I was a baby, I like to hold things. I still do.

Steve: Yeah, like my notebook. (Side Table opens her drawer again, and Steve puts her baby picture back in and gets his notebook out) Thanks, Side Table.

(music begins)

Steve: To play Blue's Clues, we got to find a...

Kids: Paw print!

Steve: Oh, a paw print, right. And that's our first...

Kids: Clue!

Steve: A clue?

Kids: A clue!

Steve: Then we put it in our...

Kids: Notebook!

Steve:

Cause they're Blue's Clues, Blue's Clues

We got to find another paw print,

That's the second clue

We put it in our notebook,

Cause they're whose clues?

Blue's Clues!

We got to find the last paw print,

That's the third clue

We put it in our notebook

Cause they're Blue's Clues, Blue's Clues

You know what to do

Sit down in our Thinking Chair

And think, think, think

Cause when we use our minds,

And take a step at a time

We can do anything...

Blue: Ba-bow!

Steve: That we want to do! (does jazz hands) You know, I can tell I'm really gonna need your help today, trying to figure out what we should do to welcome the new baby. You will help, right? You will? Great! (Steve hears Blue call him) Oh, come on.

(Steve goes to the kitchen)

Steve:

We are looking for Blue's Clues

We are looking for Blue's Clues

We are looking for Blue's Clues

Wonder where they are

(Steve then comes to the breakfast area and there were five baby rattles on the breakfast table)

Kid: A clue!

Steve: Ooh, you see a clue? Where?

Kid: Behind you!

(Steve turns around and sees the clue on the table)

Steve: There's a clue. (he goes over to the table to see the clue) On this… what is this?

Kid: A rattle!

Steve: Oh, a rattle. Our first clue is a rattle. You know what we need. Our handy-dandy…

Kid: Notebook!

Steve: Notebook, right. So, a rattle.

Steve drawing: A big circle for the top, two straight lines with two circles for the handle, a semi circle, and we have a rattle.

Steve: So, what should we do to welcome the new baby with, a rattle? Maybe. But, uh, let's get some more information.

Mail Time, Mail Time, Mail Time, Mail Time, MAIL TIME!

Steve: The mail’s here! Let's go.

Here's the mail, it never fails

It makes me want to wag my tail

When it comes, I want to wail...

(Just before he was about to say ‘Mail!’, the phone rings)

Steve: Was that the phone? (he walks and sees the phone ringing) It is the phone.

(Steve realizes it had to be Mr. Salt, so he sits in the Thinking Chair and picks up the phone)

Steve: (on the phone) Hello? Has the baby been born yet? (to the viewers) No, the baby hasn't been born yet. It's just Mr. Salt checking in. (on the phone) Grandma Cayenne and Paprika are having lunch. We're playing Blue’s Clues. Yeah. Okay. All right. Bye. Talk to you soon. Bye.

(as Steve hangs up the phone, Mailbox comes in)

Mailbox: Psst, Steve? Could you say, “Mail!”? I was waiting and waiting for you to sing “Mail!”, but it never happened.

Steve: Oh! I'm sorry, Mailbox. Are you ready?

(Mailbox leaves as Steve clears his throats and gets ready to sing the last word in the song)

Steve:

Mail!

(Mailbox comes back)

Mailbox: Thank you. Oh, has the baby been born?

Steve: No, not yet. This baby thing takes time.

Mailbox: I guess we'll have to wait. Here's your letter.

(Mailbox opens and Steve gets his letter out)

Steve: Thanks, Mailbox. We just got a letter.

We just got a letter

We just got a letter

We just got a letter

Wonder who it's from?

Steve: Look, it's a letter from our friends.

Christopher: Hi, Steve, we're going to meet my new baby sister.

Christopher’s dad: Come on, Chris.

(Christopher enters the room where his mom is)

Christopher: Hi, Mom.

Christopher’s mom: Hi, Christopher. See your baby sister?

Christopher: Her hands are so small.

(His baby sister opens her mouth)

Christopher’s mom: What does the baby say?

Christopher: She’s yawning.

Christopher’s dad: Oh man, she's yawning. Right, she's yawning. Wow.

Christopher: Bye, Steve.

Steve: Bye! (puts letter away) You know, I think having a new baby around is gonna be really cool. Don't you think, Blue? Blue? Where are you?

(Steve then gets up, and finds Blue holding a baby book)

Steve: Hey, Blue, are those our baby books?

(Blue sits on a cushion and there were a stack of four other books, and then Steve sits next to her on the floor)

Steve: I have tons of pictures of mine I want to show you. Where is it?

(Blue opens the baby book she's holding and there were three pictures in it)

Steve: I wonder whose baby book this is?

(We look at the first picture, it was a bed)

Steve: That must have been the baby's bed.

(We move to the next picture, it was a red bubble wand and three bubbles)

Steve: And maybe this is the baby's favorite toy.

(We look at the last picture, it was a little bathtub)

Steve: Oh, and this must have been the baby's first bath. So, who's baby baby book do you think this is?

Kid: Slippery Soap’s!

(The picture of the bathtub comes to life and there was Slippery as a baby in the bath)

Steve: Slippery Soap.

Baby Slippery: Whoa!

Steve: Yeah, that's Baby Slippery. (Slippery comes in) Hey, Slippery! Blue has your baby book.

Slippery: Hey! That's me in the bath. Whoa!

(Slippery leaves and takes his baby book with him, then Blue gets the next baby book out)

Steve: Ooh, look at this one. I wonder whose this is.

(We look at the first picture, it was a peanut shell cradle)

Steve: This must be a picture of the baby's cradle.

(We look at the next picture, it was a teddy bear)

Steve: And this is the baby's favorite toy.

(We look at the last picture, it was a drawing of everyone with the baby in the middle)

Steve: Oh, and this is a picture of when the baby was born. So, whose baby book do you think this is?

Kid: Paprika!

Steve: Oh.

(The picture of the peanut shell cradle comes to life and there was Paprika in it when she was a baby)

Steve: That is Paprika. (Paprika comes in) Hey, Paprika. Did you know that Blue drew that picture of you the day you were born?

Paprika: I'm bigger now.

Steve: Yeah, you are bigger.

(Paprika leaves and takes the baby book with her. Then Blue gets the next baby book out)

Steve: Look, another book. I wonder whose baby book this is?

(We look at the first picture, it was a bed with a blanket that had numbers on it)

Steve: This is the baby's favorite blanket.

(We look at the next picture, it was a song that had the numbers 1 and 2, a buckle and a shoe in the first line, and the numbers 3 and 4, a hand knocking and a door)

Steve: And this must have been the baby's favorite song.

One, two, buckle my shoe

Three, four, knock the door

(We look at the last thing in the book, it was a pair of little alarm clock bells)

Steve: Ooh, and this must be the baby's first pair of bells. So, whose baby book do you think this is?

Kid: Tickety Tock!

Steve: Tickety! You think?

(The picture of the bed comes to life and Baby Tickety comes out from under the blanket)

Steve: Oh yeah, look! Tickety was such a tiny alarm clock then.

(Tickety comes in)

Tickety: Did you find my baby book? I want to see.

Steve: Yeah, here it is.

Tickety: I remember that song. I used to want to hear it all the time.

(Tickety leaves and takes her baby book with her)

Steve: I wonder where mine is.

(Blue gets the next baby book out)

Steve: Oh, look. I wonder whose baby book this is.

Kid: Blue’s!

Blue: Yes.

Steve: Yeah, look!

(We look at the baby picture, Baby Blue was in the middle and there was a white puppy and a brown puppy)

Steve: Wow. Blue was just always, so blue.

(Blue leaves and takes her baby book with her)

Steve: Hey, here's mine! (he picks his baby book) Look. (Steve opens his baby book and shows us three pictures of him when he was a baby) This, is me, when I was a little baby. (we look at the picture he wanted to show us, it was him as a baby eating bananas, which was his favorite food) And this is the picture I wanted to show you. That's me, eating my favorite food, bananas. (closes book) Isn't that cool? You know, every once in awhile I just like to look at my baby book.

(Steve puts his baby book down and gets up)

Kid: A clue!

Steve: What, you have a baby book, too? Yeah, they're good to have.

Kid: A clue!

Steve: Oh you see a clue. Where?

Kid: On the guitar!

(Steve sees the clue on his guitar)

Steve: Look at that! My guitar is a clue! Our second clue. You know what we need. Our handy-dandy…

Kid: Notebook!

Steve: Notebook, right. So, my guitar.

Steve drawing: Let's draw a peanut shape for the body, a long rectangle for the neck, two lines across, then a circle, a line below, and some straight lines for strings. There, a guitar.

Steve: So, our first clue was, a rattle. And now our second clue is my guitar. So, what does Blue think we should do to welcome the new baby with a rattle and my guitar? Do you know? Maybe. But I think we should find our last clue. (the phone rings) What was that sound?

Kid: The phone!

(Steve runs to the phone and picks up the receiver)

Steve: (on the phone) Hello? (to the viewers) It's Mr. Salt. (on the phone) Any news? Really? Right now? Okay, right away! (he hangs up the phone) Everybody! (everyone comes in) The baby has been born!

Paprika: Yay!

Tickety: The baby!

Slippery: Woo hoo!

Paprika: I'm a big sister now!

Steve: That's right, you are!

Grandma Cayenne: How special!

Paprika: Let's go!

Steve: Right! (comes up to the viewers) Let's go see the new baby!

Grandma Cayenne: I'll wait here and make sure everything is ready. Bye.

Steve: Okay. Come on!

(Steve goes outside down the path to the sidewalk and Blue comes on her bike and Paprika is in the bike’s basket)

Steve: All right, Blue and Paprika. Let's go to the baby hospital.

(They all start heading to the baby hospital)

Steve & Blue:

The baby's here

The baby's here

We waited and waited and waited

Now the baby's here!

Paprika: Hey, Steve? (they stop at the playground) Well, what kind of baby is it? Is it a girl, or is it a boy?

Steve: You know, I don't know. (Blue leaves) I didn't even ask. We'll find out soon enough.

(Steve catches up with Blue and Paprika at the baby hospital and then they all go inside to the waiting room)

Steve: This must be the baby hospital. (they look at sign with a baby face and an arrow pointing to the right) Oh, I guess we go this way.

(They go in the direction of the sign and they come to a window to a room and inside the room were six baby alligators)

Steve: Wow, Blue, Paprika, look at all these babies. (they looked at the cute baby alligators)  Babies everywhere.

(A baby stork doctor comes in)

Baby Doctor: Well, hello there. What brings you here to our baby hospital?

Paprika: Hi, I'm big sister Paprika.

Steve: Hi, I'm Steve, this is Blue, and this is our friend.

Baby Doctor: Hi, I'm the baby doctor. I think Paprika’s new baby brother or sister is sleeping at the end of this hall. I can take you there.

Steve: Thanks. These babies are just, so little.

Paprika: Will my baby brother or sister be little?

Baby Doctor: All newborn babies are pretty small. Ooh, I'll show you the newest baby born in here. He's a baby alligator. Do you want to see if you can find him?

(They agree and they listen to her about what the newborn alligator looks like)

Baby Doctor: He’s gray, and he has scales, and a pink tongue.

Steve: So, do you see the gray, scaly baby alligator with a pink tongue? Where is he?

(We look at the six baby alligators. The one in the top left is red, with no scales and a blue tongue, the one in the bottom left is gray with scales and a pink tongue, the one in the top middle is gray with no scales and a blue tongue, the one in the bottom center is green with scales and a pink tongue, the one in the top right is green with no scales and a pink tongue, and the one in the bottom is red with no scales and a blue tongue)

Kid: There, that one!

(The one in the bottom left is the one)

Steve: That one?

Baby Doctor: Yes, that him!

(The baby alligator cries, and makes Steve wonder)

Steve: Do all babies cry?

Paprika: Will my brother or sister cry?

Baby Doctor: Well, babies sometimes cry because they need something. Come on, let's look at some more babies.

(They follow her to the next room with six baby ducklings that are fast asleep)

Baby Doctor: Our newest ducking is sleeping soundly. She's the orange, fuzzy one with the large beak.

Steve: So, can you find the new duckling that's orange, fuzzy, and has a large beak? Where is she?

(We look at the six baby ducklings sleeping. The one in the top left is brown fuzzy with a large beak, the one in the bottom left is yellow fuzzy with a small beak, the one in the top middle is yellow smooth with a small beak, the one in the bottom center is brown smooth with a large beak, the one in the top right is orange fuzzy with a large beak, and the one in the bottom right is orange smooth with a small beak)

Kid: That one!

(The one in the top right is the one)

Steve: There's the new duckling!

(The baby duckling coos)

Baby Doctor: They named her Fuzzy. Good name, don't you think?

Paprika: Good name.

(They follow the baby doctor to the last room with six baby spices, just what Paprika is looking for)

Baby Doctor: Ah, here's the nursery you were looking for, Paprika.

(Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper come in)

Mr. Salt: Paprika! Here you are! Steve! Blue! Hello, doctor!

Baby Doctor: Hello. Paprika is a very good big sister. She has lots of questions about babies. Oh, and so does Steve.

Steve: Yeah, we learned that babies are small and sometimes they cry when they need something.

Baby Doctor: Exactly.

Steve: So, Mrs. Pepper, how are you feeling?

Mrs. Pepper: Fine, thanks.

Mr Salt: So, who wants to meet Paprika’s new baby brother?

Paprika: I have a brother?

Mrs. Pepper: Yes, we had a boy! And you're his big sister!

Steve: You had a boy!

Baby Doctor: Congratulations! Paprika, do you want to see if you can find your baby brother? He has a white top, is kind of red like his sister, and is wrapped in a yellow blanket.

Steve: So, can you help Paprika find her new baby brother? He's got a white top, kind of red, and is wrapped in a yellow blanket. Which one is he?

(Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper and Paprika look at the six baby spices. The one in the top left has a red top, is kind of orange and is wrapped in a blue blanket, the one in the bottom left has a blue top, is white and is wrapped in a yellow blanket, the one in the top middle has a white top, is kind of green and is wrapped in a pink blanket, the one in the bottom center has a white top, is kind of red and is wrapped in a yellow blanket, the one in the top right has a white top, is red and is wrapped in a pink blanket, and the one in the bottom right has a yellow top, is kind of yellow and is wrapped in a blue blanket)

Kid: That one!

(The one in the bottom center is Paprika’s new baby brother)

Paprika: There he is! He’s so little.

(Paprika’s baby brother cries a little bit)

Paprika: Oh, he's crying. His name should be Cinnamon.

Mrs. Pepper: Cinnamon?

Paprika: He looks like a Cinnamon.

Mrs. Pepper: Cinnamon, is a perfect name!

Mr. Salt: Paprika! You have just named your new brother!

Steve: Cinnamon is such a cool name! Good job, big sister.

Baby Doctor: How lucky Cinnamon is to have a big sister, Paprika. Congratulations to everyone!

Steve: Bye, Doctor. Thank you.

Baby Doctor: You're welcome. Bye bye. (The baby doctor leaves)

Steve: Yeah, we better go. Uh, we'll see you all when you bring the baby home. Congratulations. Bye.

(Steve and Blue go back home and everyone is waiting for them in the thinking area)

Tickety: Well?

Mailbox: Did you see the new baby?

Steve: Yeah. It's a boy. Named Cinnamon.

Mailbox: Great name!

Tickety: Yippee!

Slippery: That's great!

Mailbox: I'm so excited!

Grandma Cayenne: I am so proud!

(Everyone leaves Steve)

Steve: Ooh, hey, we still have to figure out (after Mailbox leaves, there was a paw print in the frame by the Thinking Chair) what we should do to welcome the new baby, Cinnamon.

Kid: A clue!

Steve: Yeah, I know, he's coming home soon.

Kid: No, a clue!

Steve: Oh. You found our third clue. Where?

Kid: In the frame!

(Steve sees the clue in the frame, then he goes up to it. The picture is a face with a wide open mouth)

Steve: Our third clue! And it's on this, picture. You know what we need. Our handy-dandy…

Kids: Notebook!

Steve: Notebook, right. A picture.

Steve drawing: Let's draw a rectangle for the paper, a circle inside for the head, two semi circles for ears, eyes, and that wide open mouth. There, a picture.

Steve: Hey, (comes up to the viewers) we have all three clues. You know what that means? We're ready to sit in our…

Kid: Thinking Chair!

Steve: Thinking Chair! Let's go!

(Steve looks back and forth for the Thinking Chair, and learns that it was behind him. Then he goes to the Thinking Chair and sits down)

Steve: Okay. Now that we're in our Thinking Chair, let's think. You will help, right? Great. So, we're trying to figure out what we should do to welcome the new baby. What was our first clue?

Kid: A rattle!

Steve: (opens notebook) A rattle, right. And our second clue, is my guitar. And our last clue is, this picture. So what could we do to welcome the new baby with a rattle, my guitar, and this picture? Do you know? Well, I could play my guitar, and someone else could shake the rattle. Yeah. And, (closes notebook) and if we do this, (makes his mouth like the picture clue) like in the picture, what, what would we be doing?

Kid: Singing! Making music!

Steve: Singing! Making music! Blue, is that what we should do to welcome the new baby?

(Blue barks yes)

Steve: We just figured out Blue’s Clues!

We just figured out Blue's Clues

We just figured out Blue's Clues

We just figured out Blue's Clues

Cause we're really smart!

(Blue gives Steve his guitar)

Steve: My guitar. Okay. I'm ready to sing a welcoming the new baby kind of song. (strums guitar) Are you?

Mr. Salt: We're home! And we brought the new baby!

Tickety: The baby's here!

Steve: They're home.

Mailbox: Hey, they're finally home.

Slippery: Let's go meet the new baby.

Steve: Let's go!

(Steve goes to the kitchen along with his guitar and meets up with everyone at the breakfast table)

Paprika: Everybody, here's Cinnamon.

All: Ooh!

Grandma Cayenne: Oh-ho, he is so cute. My little grandson.

Tickety: It's about time we met you.

Mailbox: He is so beautiful!

(Steve sits at the table with them with his guitar)

Steve: Yeah. Welcome, Cinnamon. We have something to welcome the new baby. But first, something for the big sister.

(Blue gets out a picture of Paprika and her new baby brother)

Paprika: A present? For me?

Mr. Salt: Oh, it's a picture of the big sister with her new brother.

Paprika: Oh wow, thanks.

Steve: You're welcome. So, is everyone ready for our song?

Slippery: Yeah!

Tickety: All right!

Steve: Hey, big sister, will you play the rattle for us?

Paprika: Sure.

Steve: Great. Sing with us.

(Steve begins strumming his guitar and Paprika shakes the rattle)

Steve:

I'm so happy

The baby's here now

Mr. Salt:

I'm a pappy

Steve:

Hoop de doo wow

He’s so lovely

Darling

Spicy

Our Cinnamon!

Tickety: Yay!

Slippery: Hooray!

Steve: Thank you so much for all your help today.

(Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, Paprika and Grandma Cayenne have fun with their new baby, Cinnamon, and Steve thinks we should give them some time alone)

Steve: Come on. Let's give them some time alone.

(everyone leaves them alone, and Steve goes to the living room and strums his guitar for So Long)

Steve:

Now it's time for so long,

But we’ll just sing just one more song

Thanks for doing your part

You sure are smart

You know, with me and you

And my dog Blue

We can do anything…

Steve: That we want to do! Bye bye. You know, we'll always remember that you were here when Cinnamon was born.

(Steve stands in front of the Thinking Chair and strums his guitar as the viewers leave)
