Blue's Story Time

Steve: Hi, out there! It's me, Steve! Have you seen Blue, my puppy?

Kids: There she is!

[Blue comes out of her hiding spot and barks happily]

Steve: Come on in!

[Blue throws the ball over to Mailbox before throwing it back at her, Blue barks before running through the doggy door]

[Steve opens the door with Blue standing on the Thinking Chair behind him]

Steve: Oh, hi! Hey, do you want to have story time with us?

[Blue barks and runs over to the left side]

Steve: Great! Come on! We're just about to read a storybook to Blue. It's called, "A Puppy's Day"! (sees the book, not knowing that Blue is under there) Oh, great! Here's the book, all we need is Blue. (calling) Blue! (he looks around, but doesn't see her, then he turns to the viewers) Uh, did you see Blue?

Kids: Behind you!

Steve: Where?

Child: Under the book. Yeah.

Steve: (chuckles) Under the book? (walks over to the book and sits down) Here?

[Blue pops out from under the book]

Steve: Oh! (laughs) Blue, what are you up to? Come on! We'll read your favorite storybook, "A Puppy's Day"!

[Blue shakes her head no]

Steve: No? What, no?

[Blue winks at the viewers]

Steve: "A Puppy's Day" isn't your favorite story anymore?

[Blue shakes her head no again]

Steve: Well, what is your favorite, favorite story?

[Blue leaves a pawprint on the right side of the screen]

Steve: Oh, okay! (runs over to the pawprint) That's an incredible idea, Blue! We'll play "Blue's Clues"! I love "Blue's Clues"!

(singing)

We are gonna play Blue's Clues, 'cause it's really fun! Yeah!

Steve: Now, remember, Blue's pawprints will be on the clues. Blue's Clues. Oh! Oh, yeah, you're right! We should probably clean this up first! Well, let's... let's blow this pawprint away. Will you help me? You will? (inhales and then blows the pawprint away, then he laughs) Great! Oh. Oh, you know what we need for Blue's Clues? Our...

Kids: Notebook!

Steve: Right! Our notebook! Come on!

[Steve runs over to Sidetable Drawer]

Sidetable Drawer: "Blue's Clues"! I'm so excited! (opens up her drawer)

Steve: Ooh! (takes out the notebook) Here it is! Hey, you know, I can tell I'm gonna need your help figuring out what Blue's favorite, favorite story is. Will you help me?

Kids: Sure!

Steve: Oh, thanks!

[Start of song]

Steve: (singing)

We got to find a paw print,

That's the first clue.

We put it in our notebook,

And now what do we do?

Blue's Clues,

Blue's Clues!

Kids: Blue's Clues!

Steve: (singing)

We got to find another paw print,

That's the second clue.

We put it in our notebook,

Now what do we do?

Blue's Clues,

Blue's Clues!

Kids: Blue's Clues!

Steve: (singing)

We got to find another paw print,

That's the third clue.

We put it in our notebook,

And well, you know what to do!

Blue's Clues,

Blue's Clues!

Kids: Blue's Clues!

Steve: (singing)

Well, we sit down in our Thinking Chair

And think, think, think!

'Cause when we use our minds,

And take a step at a time,

We can do anything...

Blue: Bow!

Steve: That we want to do! (does jazz hands)

[Song ends]

Steve: This way? (gives the viewers a thumbs up as he starts walking while singing) We are looking for Blue's Clues, we are looking for Blue's Clues, we are looking for Blue's Clues. I wonder where they are? (walks into the kitchen to find Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper on the table)

Mr. Salt & Mrs. Pepper: (in unison) Oh, hi, Steve!

Steve: Oh! Hello, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper. Did you see Blue-?

Mr. Salt & Mrs. Pepper: (in unison) She's in the garden.

Steve: (starts singing again as he goes into the garden) We are going to the garden, we are going to the garden, we are going to the garden to figure out what Blue's favorite story is! (starts looking around)

Kids: A clue! A clue! A clue!

Steve: (turns to the viewers) Did you see a clue? Oh! Where? (turns around and looks around, and then back to the viewers) Where's the clue?

Kids: In the wheelbarrow!

[Steve looks in the wheelbarrow and sees the pawprints on the bricks]

Steve: (enthusiastically) Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Blue's pawprints are on these... bricks! That must mean that these bricks are our first Blue's clue! We have our first clue! Now what do we do?

Kids: Notebook!

Steve: Yeah! We need our handy-dandy... (takes out his notebook) Notebook! (starts drawing the bricks) Okay, so, we have bricks! A line here, a line there, kind of like a rectangle and we have bricks!

[An image of bricks pop up on the top left corner]

Steve: Hmm, well, I wonder what story has bricks? Huh, well, I think we need to look for more Blue's Clues to figure this out.

Shovel: (off-screen) No, no. Jack and Jill did not go up a tree.

[Steve walks over to Shovel, Pail and Blue]

Shovel: It was something else...

Steve: (to Blue) Hey, Blue, there you are. (to Shovel and Pail) Hello, Shovel, hello, Pail. What are you all up to?

Shovel: Hi, Steve!

Pail: Hi, Steve! We're playing Jack and Jill.

Shovel: I'm Jack! Blue's Jill!

Pail: I'm the Pail!

Shovel: But we haven't gotten too far.

Shovel & Pail: (in unison) Yeah. Oh, maybe you can help us!

Steve: (to the viewers) Do you want to help Shovel, Pail and Blue play Jack and Jill?

Kids: Sure!

Steve: Yeah, we'll help! Ooh, and then, we can look for more "Blue's Clues" to figure out what Blue's favorite, favorite story is. Come on.

Shovel & Pail: (in unison) Okay, so Jack...

Shovel: That's me!

Shovel & Pail: (in unison, continued) And Jill go up a mountain.

[A mountain appears]

Pail: I'm not sure it was a mountain.

Shovel: (tries to climb up the mountain, only for him to slide back down) Yeah.

Steve: Hmm. (turns to the viewers) Do you know? Jack and Jill go up a...

Kids: Hill!

Shovel & Pail: (in unison) Hill!

[A hill appears as Blue barks while nodding her head]

Steve: (gives the viewers a thumbs up) Yes!

[They go up to the hill]

Shovel & Pail: (in unison) Jack...

Shovel: That's me!

Shovel & Pail: (in unison, continued) And Jill go up a hill to fetch a pail of...

Shovel: Ice cream!

[The ice cream appears inside of Pail]

Pail: Ice cream? Did you just say ice cream? Jack and Jill were fetching a pail of ice cream?! (to Steve) Help! We need more help!

Steve: Okay, alright. (to the viewers) I think we really need your help again. Do Jack and Jill go up a hill to fetch a pail of... ice cream?

Kids: No!

Steve: Hmm, Jack and Jill go up a hill to fetch a pail of...

Kids: Water!

[Blue barks as she nods her head and at the same time, water appears inside of Pail]

Steve: (gives the viewers a thumbs up) Yes!

Pail: Yeah, that's it!

Shovel: Okay, let's do it!

Steve: Okay, you ready? (clears his throat) Jack...

Shovel: That's me!

Steve: (continued) And Jill go up a hill to fetch a pail of water. Jack fell down...

Shovel: I love this part!

Steve: And broke his crown.

Shovel: (falls down) Oh, my head!

Steve: And Jill comes... (pauses) Jill comes...

Child: Tumbling after!

Steve: Jill comes tumbling after!

[Pail and Blue both fall]

Steve: The end! (applauses) Yay!

[They both take their bows]

Shovel & Pail: (in unison) Thanks for playing with us.

Steve: (to the viewers) You were great!

Chorus: (singing) Mail time, mail time, mail time, mail time, mail time!

Steve: The mail's here! Come on! (to Shovel and Pail) Bye, guys.

Steve: (singing) Here's the mail, it never fails. It makes me want to wag my tail. When it comes, I want to wail, “Mail!”

[Mailbox comes in and Steve sits in the Thinking Chair]

Mailbox: Jack and Jill went up a hill to fetch... the mail!

Steve: Hey! Ha! That's pretty funny, Mailbox!

Mailbox: Yeah. Here's your letter! Bye!

Steve: (takes the letter) Bye, Mailbox! We just got a letter!

We just got a letter!

We just got a letter!

We just got a letter!

I wonder who it's from? (opens the letter) It's a letter from our friends!

Girl: We make up stories with our puppets!

[The girl is now playing as the girl puppet]

Girl: (narrating) One day, a girl went outside to play. (singing) Play, play, play, play! She saw a monster. But she said... (as the girl puppet) Hello!

Boy: (in a deep, gruffly voice as the monster puppet) Hello!

Girl: (as the girl puppet) Are you a scary monster?

Boy: (as the monster puppet) No! I'm a silly monster! Oogla, boogla, oogla!

Girl: (narrating) The two of them "oogla, boogla" all the way home.

Boy and Girl: (in unison) The end!

Steve: Bye! (closes the letter) Wow! That was great! (deep voice) Oogla, boogla! (normal voice) All stories are great, don't you think? Oh, hey! Hey, Blue!

[Steve runs into the room and a pawprint is seen on a wolf plush]

Steve: (announcing) It's almost story time!

Kids: A clue!

Steve: Oh! A clue? Is that the name of Blue's favorite, favorite story?

Kids: No! (giggles) No!

Steve: (quickly turns away, but then back to the viewers) Oh! You mean another one of Blue's clues?! Where?

Kids: Behind you!

[Steve turns around and sees the pawprint on the wolf plush]

Steve: Clue #2! (runs over to the wolf plush) What big teeth it has! And look at that tail! So, Blue's second clue must be a... a...

Kids: A wolf!

Steve: A wolf! Hey, you know what we need? Our handy-dandy, super duper... (takes out his notebook) Notebook! (starts drawing the wolf) So, a wolf's head, those big teeth, and of course, the tail and we have a wolf! Hmm, so, what was her first clue?

Kids: Bricks!

Steve: Yeah! Right! Bricks!

[An image of bricks pop up on the top left corner]

Steve: Now our second clue is a wolf.

[An image of a wolf pops up on the top right corner]

Steve: So, what story could Blue want to read with bricks and a wolf? Maybe, maybe we should look for one more clue!

[Steve suddenly jumps out of the way as Blue jumps out of the toy box with a photo album]

Steve: Ooh, look! It's our photo album! It's where we keep all our pictures. Want to look at them? Okay. (runs over to the photo album, but quickly runs back to the viewers) Then we can look for more "Blue's Clues". (runs over to the photo album and sits down, then opens it revealing a picture of Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper and Tickety Tock on each page) Oh, look! It's Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper and Tickety Tock!

[Blue barks as Steve turns to another page, revealing four pictures of Blue and Magenta]

Steve: Oh! And look, Blue! There's your pictures of your first day of school!

[Blue barks]

Steve: Oh. Well, these pictures are all out of order.

Blue: (barks "Uh-oh")

Steve: (to the viewers) Can you help me put them back together?

[Blue barks in agreement, enthusiastically]

Steve: Oh, good. Now, can you tell from these pictures what happened in school first?

Kids: Right there!

[The first picture shows Blue and Magenta shaking paws]

Kids: Yeah! That's it!

[Blue grabs the first picture and puts it on the next page]

Steve: Brilliant, Blue! You said hi to a new friend. Her name is... Magenta, right?

[Blue barks as she nods her head]

Steve: Right. And then what happened?

Kids: Right there!

[The second picture shows Blue and Magenta getting ready to finger-paint, as Blue grabs the second picture and puts it on the next page]

Child: Yeah, that's it!

Steve: That's great! You and Magenta went to the paint table to paint. Then what happened?

Kids: Right there!

[The third picture shows Blue and Magenta finger-painting, as Blue grabs the third picture and puts it on the next page]

Child: That's it!

Steve: That's right! You and Magenta started really painting.

[Blue barks in agreement]

Steve: Then what happened?

Kids: That's the one!

[The last picture shows Blue and Magenta exchanging each other's paintings, as Blue grabs the last picture and puts it on the next page]

Child: Yeah!

Steve: That's great! You and Magenta gave each other the pictures you made.

[Blue barks]

Steve: Wow! What a great story about Blue's first day of school!

[Blue barks as Steve closes the photo album, then he hears the sound of an alarm clock ringing]

Steve: Hey, did you hear that? That sounds like Tickety Tock. Come on. (starts walking to his bedroom, calling) Okay, Tickety! We hear you! (to the viewers) She's an alarm clock.

[Steve stops walking and sees Tickety Tock ringing and then walks over to her]

Tickety Tock: Hi, Steve!

Steve: Hey, Tickety, we heard your alarm bells.

[Tickety Tock rings her bells again]

Tickety Tock: Yes, I wanted to tell you it's almost story time!

Steve: Well, thank you, Tickety! (to the viewers) Ooh, ooh, but you know, we still have to figure out what Blue's favorite, favorite story is.

[Blue barks as she runs past Steve]

Steve: Come on!

[Steve follows Blue over to a book and sees Baby Bear inside]

Steve: Hey, Blue, what's going on?

Baby Bear: Blue, I need your help! Can you help me?

[Blue barks]

Steve: Oh, hello, Baby Bear. What's the matter?

Baby Bear: Somebody's been in our house and messed everything up! Will you help?

Steve: (to the viewers) Will you help? You will? Good.

[Blue skidoos into the book]

Steve: (singing) Blue's Skidoo, we can too! (skidoos into Storybook Forest and looks around, amazed) Whoa! This must be Storybook Forest!

[Baby Bear and Blue pop out from the house, Steve follows them into the house]

Papa Bear: Someone's been in our house!

Mama Bear: Everything is all mixed up!

Steve: Ooh, don't worry, we'll help!

Papa Bear: Hello, Steve.

Mama Bear: Hello, Steve.

Both: We're glad you're here.

Baby Bear: We need to figure out our lunch.

[Blue licks her lips]

Mama Bear: Yes. Whose is whose? We're all confused!

Blue: (barks "Uh-oh")

Steve: (to the viewers) Will you help us? Great. (clears his throat) So, which bowl of porridge belongs to...

[Papa Bear's stomach bounces]

Steve: Papa Bear?

Kids: That one!

Papa Bear: (grabs his large-sized bowl of porridge) That's my great big bowl! Thanks a lot!

Steve: (to the viewers) Great job! How about the bowl of porridge for...

[Mama Bear's stomach bounces]

Steve: Mama Bear?

Kids: Right there!

Mama Bear: (grabs her medium-sized bowl of porridge) My, oh, my! It's my medium-sized bowl of porridge! (sniffs her porridge) Smells good!

[Blue licks her lips again]

Steve: (to the viewers) Great job!

Baby Bear: Don't forget me!

Steve: Oh, heh, you weren't hungry, were you, Baby Bear?

Baby Bear: That's not funny, Steve!

Steve: Do you see Baby Bear's bowl of porridge?

Child: That's it! Yeah!

[Baby Bear tries to reach her small-sized bowl of porridge, but Mama Bear gives it to her]

Baby Bear: (to Steve) Thank you! (to the viewers, whispering) I knew Steve was just joking. This is my little bowl of porridge.

Papa Bear: Can you help us find our cups of milk?

Steve: Three bears do look a little thirsty. Must be all of that porridge. Well, do you see Mama Bear's cup of milk?

Kids: That's the one!

Mama Bear: (grabs her cup of milk) Just the right amount of milk for me!

Steve: (to the viewers) Great job! Now, how about Baby Bear?

Kids: That one!

[Baby Bear tries to reach her cup of milk, but Mama Bear gives it to her]

Baby Bear: Milk makes me grow to be big, like Papa Bear!

Papa Bear: Who was also quite thirsty!

Steve: Do you see Papa Bear's cup?

Kids: Right there!

Papa Bear: (grabs his cup of milk) Milk for Papa Bear! Just the right amount!

Both: Thank you so much!

[Blue barks happily as the bears start eating their bowls of porridge]

Steve: (to the viewers) Oh, hey, we still have to figure out what Blue's favorite, favorite story is! We need one more clue!

[Steve runs out of the house and past by a group of pigs reading a story and one of the pigs has a pawprint on it, Steve quickly comes back]

Steve: What was that?

Kids: A clue! A clue!

Steve: (eagerly) Did you say a clue? Where?

Kids: Behind you!

[Steve looks around until he sees a pawprint on one of the pigs as he gasps and puts his hands on his chest]

Steve: Oh, oh, oh! (runs over to the pigs) This pig has got Blue's pawprints on it! It must be one of Blue's Clues! You know what to do! We need our handy-dandy...

Kids: Notebook!

Steve: (takes out his notebook) Notebook! (starts drawing the pig) A pig's head, a big, round body, circle for the snout, lines for the legs and a squiggly tail. Okay! A pig! (laughs, as he closes the notebook and puts it away) So, a pig is our third Blue's clue! Hey. We have all three clues. (enthusiastically) You know what this means? We're ready for our...

Kids: Thinking Chair!

Steve: Thinking Chair! Let's go!

[Blue skidoos into the bedroom]

Steve: There goes Blue! Let's go too!

[Steve scats as he skidoos back into the bedroom, then he turns to the viewers]

Steve: Let's get to our... (arrives in the living room) Thinking Chair! (sits down in his Thinking Chair) Now that we're in our Thinking Chair, let's think! (takes out his notebook and opens it) Okay, so, we need to figure out what Blue's favorite, favorite story is. Right? Right. Okay, so, our three Blue's clues are bricks.

[An image of bricks pop up on the top left corner]

Steve: A wolf...

[An image of a wolf pops up in the top center above Steve's head]

Steve: And a pig.

[An image of a pig pops up in the top right corner]

Steve: So, so, what story could Blue want to read with bricks, a wolf and a pig? Hmm. Oh! Oh, oh, is it, is it the story of, of the little pig who cried wolf?

[The pig squeals loudly]

Kids: No!

[Blue shakes her head no while covering her eyes]

Steve: No. Hmm, well, what story has bricks, a wolf and a pig?

Kids: The three little pigs!

Steve: Oh. The three little pigs!

[Blue happily barks as she nods her head]

Steve: (eagerly) That's it! That's brilliant! Blue wants to read "The Three Little Pigs"! (laughs) Bricks for the brick house in the story, a wolf (inhales, deep voice) for the Big Bad Wolf, (normal voice) and a pig for the three little pigs! We just figured out "Blue's Clues"!

(singing)

We just figured out Blue's Clues,

We just figured out Blue's Clues,

We just figured out Blue's Clues,

Because we're really smart!

Steve: Blue, let's go get your favorite, favorite storybook, "The Three Little Pigs" so we can have story time!

[Blue barks and runs over to the left side and Steve follows her, Blue brings "The Three Little Pigs" storybook over to Steve]

Steve: Thank you, Blue. (shows the viewers the book) "The Three Little Pigs"!

[Shovel and Pail arrive]

Steve: Oh, hey, look who's here for story time! It's Shovel and Pail. Remember the nursery rhyme we helped them with?

[Blue barks as she nods her head in agreement]

Steve: Went up the hill! (winks at the viewers)

[Tickety Tock appears]

Steve: Oh, and look, it's Tickety Tock!

Tickety Tock: It's story time!

[At the same time, Magenta arrives]

Steve: Oh, Blue! Look! Magenta came! Your friend from school!

[The three bears appear]

Steve: Hey, and the three bears are here! Wow! Alright, well, let's read Blue's favorite, favorite story together! (sits down on the floor) "The Three Little Pigs"! (clears his throat as he opens the book, reading) "Once upon a time, there were three little pigs. The first little pig made his house out of straw. But the big bad wolf came!"

[The big bad wolf appears and blows the first little pig's house down]

Steve: (reading) "And blew his house down."

[The first little pig runs over to the second little pig's house]

Steve: (reading) "The second little pig made his house out of sticks. But the big bad wolf came!"

[The big bad wolf appears once again and blows the second little pig's house down]

Steve: (reading) "And blew his house down too!"

[The pigs run over to the third little pig's house]

Steve: (reading) "But the third little pig made her house out of bricks. So, when the big bad wolf came..." (whispers) Big Bad Wolf!

[The big bad wolf appears again and tries to blow the third little pig's house, but fails]

Steve: (reading) "He huffed, and he puffed, and he huffed, and he puffed, and he huffed, and he puffed, and he…"

[The Big Bad Wolf leaves in defeat]

Steve: (reading) "But he could not blow the little pigs' house down. The end!" (closes the book)

Everyone: Read it again!

Steve: Okay. (opens the book again for Blue and her friends to read, then he turns to the viewers) Come on. (walks back to the living room) Hey, thank you so much for all your help today. (gives the viewers a thumbs up)

(singing)

Now it's time for so long!

But we'll sing just one more song.

Thanks for doing your part,

You sure are smart,

You know, with me and you and my dog, Blue.

We can do anything that we wanna do!

Steve: Bye-bye! See you later! Bye-bye! Come again!

Blue: (barks "Not by the hair of my chinny, chin, chin.")

Steve: (deep voice) Not by the hair of your chinny, chin, chin?

[Blue barks as she shakes her head no]

Steve: (deep voice) Oh, yeah? Well, I'm gonna huff, and I'm gonna puff, and I'm gonna blow your house in! (turns to the viewers, normal voice) Can you help me huff and puff and blow this little pig's house in? You will? Great! (inhales and tries to blow the 'house' down, but to no avail, deep voice) Wow! That sure is a strong house of bricks, little pig!

[Blue barks as she nods her head in agreement]

Steve: (deep voice) I quit. (pretends to leave, muttering, then turns back to Blue, normal voice) Good job, little pigs! We can't blow your house in!

[They both clap]

Steve: Okay, Blue, let's do it again. (prepares to inhale again)

[Blue shakes her head no]

Steve: No? You don't want to play (takes off his wolf ears) "The Three Little Pigs" again?

[Blue shakes her head no again]

Steve: Oh, (puts his wolf ears down) okay. Well, what story do you want to play?

(singing)

We are gonna play Blue's Clues, 'cause that's a really amazing game! Yeah!

Steve: Okay, now remember, Blue's pawprints will be on the clues. Blue's Clues. Oh, yeah. We better clean this pawprint up. Let's see. Um, ooh! (clears his throat, narrating) Once upon a time, there was a... (draws a smiley face on the pawprint) happy pawprint.

[The pawprint winks at the viewers]

Steve: (narrating, continued) And that pawprint was just so happy, that it just hopped away.

[The pawprint hops away]

Steve: The end. Thank you. Oh, hey, you know what we need for Blue's Clues? Our handy-dandy...

Kids: Clue!

Steve: Yeah! Then, we put it in our notebook. (starts singing) 'Cause they're Blue's Clues, Blue's Clues!

Kids: Blue's Clues!

Steve: (singing)

We got to find another paw print,

That's the second clue.

We put it in our notebook,

'Cause they're whose clues?

Blue's Clues!

Kids: Blue's Clues!

Steve: (singing)

We got to find the last pawprint,

That's the third clue.

We put it in our notebook,

'Cause they're whose clues?

Blue's Clues!

You know what to do!

Sit down in our Thinking Chair and think, think, think!

'Cause when we use our minds,

And take a step at a time,

We can do anything!

Blue: Bow!

Steve: That we want to do! (does jazz hands)

[Song ends]

Steve: Okay. (looks around as Blue appears from the right side and then leaves, he turns to the viewers) Did you see which way Blue went?

Child: She went that way!

Steve: Oh, this way! (gives the viewers a thumbs up as he starts walking while singing) We are looking for Blue's Clues, we are looking for Blue's Clues, we are looking for Blue's Clues. I wonder where they are?

Kids: It's a clue! A clue!

Child: No, a clue!

Steve: Oh, a clue? You see a clue?! Where? (looks around)

Child: On the bowl!

Steve: On the bowl? (sees the pawprint on the bowl) Oh. (laughs) This bowl is a clue, that's what you've been trying to tell me. Hey, you know what we need? Our handy-dandy...

Kids: Notebook!

Steve: (takes out his notebook) Notebook! Okay, so, a bowl. (starts drawing the bowl) An oval, and a semi-circle, a line here and we have a bowl.

[An image of a bowl pops up on the top left corner]

Steve: Hmm, so what story could Blue want to play with a bowl? Well, I think we better keep an eye out for more Blue's Clues.

[Blue barks off-screen]

Steve: Blue? (calling) Blue?

[The scene cuts to Blue hiding behind the bookshelf as Steve enters the bedroom]

Steve: (to the viewers) Do you see Blue?

Kids: Right there! Behind the books!

[Steve turns around and looks at the bookshelf, he shushes the viewers and slowly walks over to the bookshelf]

Steve: Aha!

[Blue barks as she knocks off some books off the shelf and runs off]

Steve: Oh. Well, guess we better clean this up.

[Steve gets down on the floor and sees Cinderella and Jack up close]

Steve: Oh, look.

Cinderella & Jack: (screams) Aaaaahh!! It's a Giant!

[They run away]

Steve: Oh, wait, no, it's just me, Steve! Come back! I...

Wolf: Hey, Steve.

Steve: Oh, hello, Mr. Wolf.

Wolf: I'm kind of lost. I was wondering if you could help me find my book?

Steve: Your book? You live in a book?

Wolf: Yep. Can you help me find my book?

Steve: Sure. (to the viewers) He lives in a book. (back to the wolf) Which book do you live in?

Wolf: That's the problem. I'm not sure which book it is.

Steve: Well, uh, ooh, what happens in your book?

Wolf: I'll show you. (puts on a yellow outfit, dressed as a grandma and laughs) I pretend to be the grandma in my story so I can trick that little girl. (laughs again)

Steve: Mmm-hmm. (to the viewers) Which book do you think the wolf belongs in?

[The wolf walks over to three books, "Hansel and Gretel", "Little Red Riding Hood" and "The Three Little Pigs"]

Child: That one!

Steve: (points to the "Little Red Riding Hood" book) This one? Well, what's the name of this book?

Child: "Little Red Riding Hood"!

Steve: Oh, of course! He's the wolf in the story that dresses up like Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother and says, "The better to see you with!"! (to the wolf) Here you go, Mr. Wolf.

Wolf: Thanks. But I'm not a wolf, I'm a nice, old grandmother.

Steve: Oh, yeah?

[The wolf nods his head in agreement]

Steve: Well, those are awful big feet you got for a grandmother.

Wolf: Better to, uh, walk back into my book. (walks into the "Little Red Riding Hood" book and gives a wave)

Steve: Whew! Good work!

Jack: (calling, off-screen) Steve! Steve!

[Steve crawls back over and sees Jack]

Jack: Hi, Steve! I want to go back into my book too, but I'm not sure which one is mine. Can you help me?

Steve: Oh, oh, of course! (to the viewers) Will you help too? Great! (to Jack) Um, so, what happens in your book?

Jack: I'll show you! (starts dancing and humming, while smiling)

Steve: (to the viewers) He seems to be feeling...

Kids: Happy!

Steve: Yeah! Right! That's why he's all smiley.

[Jack walks up to the screen and shows the viewers three magic beans in his hand]

Steve: Hey, what are those? They look like...

Child: Beans!

Steve: Beans! Yeah! (chuckles) Oh, okay, so, what book do you think he belongs in?

[Jack walks over to three books, "Hey! Diddle, Diddle", "The Princess and the Pea" and "Jack and the Beanstalk"]

Kids: That one!

Steve: Oh! (points to the "Jack and the Beanstalk" book) Well, what's the name of his book?

Kids: "Jack and the Beanstalk"!

Steve: Oh, yeah! "Jack and the Beanstalk"! Right, because the boy had magic beans that grew into a great, big beanstalk, remember? (to Jack) Okay, here's your book.

Jack: Thanks! (runs into the "Jack and the Beanstalk" book and climbs up the beanstalk and disappears into the giant cloud)

Giant: (off-screen) Fe-fi-fo-fum!

Steve: Ooh! (calling) Careful up there, Jack!

Jack: (appears from the cloud, calling) I will be! Thanks! (disappears into the cloud again)

Cinderella: (calling, off-screen) Steve! Steve!

[Steve crawls back over and sees Cinderella]

Cinderella: (sadly) Oh-no, I think I'm a little lost too.

Steve: Well, what happens in your book?

Cinderella: Well, here, I'll show you. (pretends to sweep by using a broom)

Steve: (to the viewers) What is she doing? Well, she's...

Kids: Sweeping!

Steve: Sweeping! Right.

[Cinderella pretends to dance]

Steve: (to the viewers) Well, first she was sweeping and now she's...

Kids: Dancing!

Steve: Dancing. Yeah. Uh, so, what book do you think she belongs in?

[Cinderella dances her way to three books, "Cinderella", "Rapunzel" and an unknown story about a castle in the sky that's similar to "Jack and the Beanstalk"]

Child: That one.

Steve: (points to the "Cinderella" book) This one? Well, what's the name of her book?

Child: "Cinderella"!

Steve: Oh, right! "Cinderella"! (to Cinderella) You mean, you're Cinderella?

Cinderella: Yes.

Steve: Wow! (to the viewers) She really is Cinderella! Remember because she sweeps up and then she goes to the ball and dances.

Cinderella: But they won't let me go to the ball.

Steve: Oh. Well, don't give up, Cinderella. You can do anything that you want to do?

Cinderella: (optimistically) Really? (gets her old clothes transformed into a ballgown) Thanks, Steve! (dances into the "Cinderella" book)

Steve: Bye! (calling) Oh, wait! You forgot your shoe. (shows the viewers a tiny glass slipper as it shines and gives it to Cinderella and then she leaves)

Chorus: (singing) Mail time, mail time, mail time, mail time, mail time!

Steve: The mail's here!

Steve: (singing) Here's the mail, it never fails. It makes me want to wag my tail. When it comes, I want to wail, “Mail!”

[Mailbox comes in and Steve sits in the Thinking Chair]

Mailbox: (in a loud voice) Fe-fi-fo-fetter! (normal voice) I think that Steve's gonna get a letter!

Steve: (in a deep voice) Fe-fi-fo-fuss! It's a letter just for us! (takes the letter) Thanks, Mailbox!

Mailbox: You're welcome! (leaves)

Steve: We just got a letter!

We just got a letter!

We just got a letter!

We just got a letter!

I wonder who it's from? (opens the letter) Oh, look! It's a letter from our friends!

Kids: Hi, Steve!

Boy #1: We're acting out a story. It's "The Three Little Pigs"!

Girl #1: Little pigs, little pigs, let me come in!

Boy #1: Not by the hair of our chinny, chin, chin!

Girl #1: Then, I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house down! (tries to blow the pretend house down, but to no avail)

Boy #1: You can't blow our house down! It's made out of bricks!

Girl #1: I give up! (falls on the couch)

Kids: (taking their bows) The end!

Steve: Bye! (closes the letter and sees Blue run past by him)

Child: A clue!

Steve: A clue? Where? Where's the clue?

Kids: Behind you!

[Steve turns around and sees a pawprint on the chair]

Steve: Look! The clue! (runs over to the chair) And it's a, a...

Kids: Chair!

Steve: Chair! Right! A little chair, yeah! Ooh, so now you know what we need? Our handy-dandy...

Kids: Notebook!

Steve: (takes out his notebook) Notebook! Okay, so, we have a chair. (starts drawing the chair) Start with two circles, lines for the back, kind of a rectangle for the seat, and legs. And we have a chair. What was our first clue?

Child: A bowl! A bowl!

Steve: Oh, right. A bowl.

[An image of a bowl pops up on the top left corner]

Steve: And our second clue is a chair?

[An image of a chair pops up on the top right corner]

Steve: A bowl and a chair? Oh! What story could Blue want to play with a bowl and a chair? I think we better find our last Blue's clue.

Bunny: (calling, off-screen) Steve! Steve!

[Steve walks over and sees Blue and a book, Blue skidoos into the book]

Steve: Blue just went right into that book! (singing) Blue's Skidoo, we can too! (skidoos into Storybook Forest)

Bunny: (calling) Steve! Hurry up! Hurry up!

[Steve walks over to Blue and Bunny]

Bunny: We're putting on a play and we need your help! Come on!

Steve: How can we help?

Bunny: You need to be the king and Blue needs to be the king's little sister.

Steve: (puts the crown on his head, impersonating like Elvis Presley) Alright, now. I'm the king. (does a dance move, to Bunny) What do we need to do?

Bunny: I'll read a story and you can act it out. (picks up a big, baby blue book of a crown on the front) Okay?

Steve: (impersonating like Elvis Presley) Alright, now. (normal voice, as he turns to the viewers) Hey. (takes the crown off) You will be the king with me, right? Great! (puts the crown back on, talks like Elvis Presley again) So, I think I'm gonna need a little help. (runs over to Blue) Alright, now, Bunny. We're ready for that first page. (does a dance move)

Bunny: Okay, here's the first page. (opens the book and sees a king dancing, reading) "Once upon a time, there was a king."

Steve: (talking like Elvis Presley) That's me.

Bunny: (reading) "Who found a green striped cookie."

Steve: Ooh! (walks over and picks up a 'green striped cookie') Look at that green striped cookie.

Bunny: (reading) "The cookie..."

Steve: (shows the viewers the 'cookie') Cookie.

Bunny: (reading, continued) "Made the king..."

Steve: That's me!

Bunny: (reading, continued) "So jolly and happy."

Steve: Happy, happy, happy!

Bunny: (reading, continued) "That the king..."

Steve: That's me!

Bunny: (reading, continued) "Danced all around the kingdom."

Steve: (starts hopping in one place) Look out, kingdom, here I come! I'm hopping!

Kids: No!

Bunny: Uh, king?

Steve: (still hopping) What can I do for you, Bunny?

Bunny: That's not the way the story goes. Listen.

[Steve walks over to Bunny as he takes the crown off]

Bunny: (reading) "The happy king danced all around the kingdom."

Steve: (puts his crown back on and then he starts dancing) Right, alright, now. That's how it goes. Look at me, I'm dancing. I'm all shook up!

Bunny: (reading, as she turns to another page) "Then the happy king..."

Steve: That's me!

Bunny: (reading, continued) "Put his favorite green cookie..."

Steve: (takes the 'cookie' out of his pocket) Cookie.

Bunny: (reading, continued) "In his pocket for later."

Steve: I'll tell you what, green striped cookie, you look so good, king's gonna eat you up right now. (pretends to eat the 'cookie')

Child: No!

[Bunny clears her throat]

Steve: Not now, Bunny, king's eating his cookie.

Bunny: That's not the way the story goes. Listen.

[Steve walks over to Bunny as he takes his crown off again]

Bunny: (reading) "The happy king put his favorite cookie in his pocket for later."

Steve: (puts his crown back on) Cookie. (puts the 'cookie' in his pocket and continues dancing) Alright, now.

Bunny: (reading, as she turns to another page) "But suddenly, the king's..."

Steve: That's me!

Bunny: (reading, continued) "Little sister..."

Steve: Ooh! That's her!

Bunny: (reading, continued) "He made and saw that there were no more green striped cookies left. She was so sad that she cried."

[Blue pretends to cry]

Bunny: (reading, continued) "The king stopped dancing."

Steve: (stops dancing) Oh, darlin'! Oh, I see, the king's little sister is crying, because the king, that's me, ate the last green striped cookie. (quickly takes his crown off, normal voice) You're not really crying, are you, Blue?

[Blue barks as she shakes her head no]

Steve: Okay, just checking.

Bunny: (clears her throat and continues reading as she flips the page over to the last page) "So the king..."

Steve: (starts dancing again, impersonating like Elvis Presley) That's me!

Bunny: (reading) "Took out his cookie..."

Steve: (takes the 'cookie' out of his pocket) Cookie.

Bunny: (reading, continued) "Broke it in two pieces and gave half to his sister."

Steve: This cookie's making you so upset, darlin', king's just gonna throw it away! (tosses the 'cookie' away and continues dancing)

Kids: No!

Bunny: Uh, excuse me, king?

Steve: (stops dancing) What can I do for you, Bunny?

Bunny: That's not the way the story goes. Listen.

[Steve takes his crown off again as he walks over to Bunny]

Bunny: (reading) "The king took out his cookie, broke it in two pieces and gave half to his little sister."

Steve: (puts his crown back on again and picks up the 'cookie') Cookie. (breaks the cookie into half and gives half to Blue) Right. There you go, little darlin'!

[Blue jumps up and licks Steve's face]

Steve: Oh! Come on, now, darlin'! Don't be a hound dog!

Bunny: (giggles, as she closes the book) The end!

Steve: (claps his hands, then turns to Blue) Alright, now! (laughs, normal voice) Wow! What a great play! (walks over to the viewers) And you were a great (does a few dance moves) king! (takes the crown off) Hey, you know what? I think we should go look for more Blue's Clues! (impersonates like Elvis Presley) Bye-bye!

[Blue skidoos into the living room]

Steve: (singing like Elvis Presley) Blue Skidoo, oh! We can too! (skidoos into the living room, then he turns to the viewers) The king has left the forest. (does a few dance moves)

Kids: A clue! A clue!

Steve: (normal voice) A clue?! Where?

Kids: Right there!

[Steve turns around and sees a pawprint on the teddy bear, he gasps]

Steve: A clue! (runs over to the teddy bear on the couch) And it's a bear! It's my favorite bear. You know what we need? Our handy-dandy...

Kids and Steve: Notebook!

Steve: (takes out his notebook) Okay, so, we have a bear. Alright, (starts drawing the bear) okay, here's the head, a circle for the body, arms and legs, the eyes, little triangle for the nose and we have a bear. Well, (closes the notebook) we have all three clues. (does a few dance moves) We have all three clues! You know what that means? We're ready for our...

Kids: Thinking Chair!

Steve: Thinking Chair! Right! Come on! (sits down in his Thinking Chair) Okay, now that we're in our Thinking Chair, let's think! (takes out his notebook and opens it) Okay, so, we need to figure out what story Blue wants to play. And our Blue's clues are a bowl.

[An image of a bowl pops up on the top left corner]

Steve: A chair...

[An image of a chair pops up in the top center above Steve's head]

Steve: And a bear.

[An image of a bear pops up in the top right corner]

Steve: So what story could Blue want to play that has a chair, a bear and a bowl in it? Ooh, could it be the story of a bear that put her bowl on top of a chair?

Child: No!

[Blue shakes her head no]

Steve: No. Well, what story could Blue wanna play with a chair, a bear and a bowl? What if, what if the bear sat in the chair and ate out of the bowl? Or, or maybe somebody else could sit in the chair and eat out of the bowl? Somebody like... Somebody like...

Kids: Goldilocks!

Steve: Goldilocks! And the three bears!

[Blue happily barks as she nods her head]

Steve: That's it! That's brilliant! The chair for the chair she sat in, the bowl for the bowl of porridge, and the bear for the three bears! We just figured out "Blue's Clues"!

(singing)

We just figured out Blue's Clues,

We just figured out Blue's Clues,

We just figured out Blue's Clues,

Because we're really smart!

Steve: Blue, now that we've figured out what story you wanna play, let's go play it!

[Bunny arrives]

Steve: Look. Bunny's here! (in Elvis Presley's voice as he dances) Remember how we helped her put on a play?

Bunny: Hey, Steve, now can I be in Blue's play?

Steve: (talks like Elvis Presley) Absolutely, Bunny!

[Tickety Tock arrives]

Steve: (normal voice) Look! Tickety's here too!

Tickety Tock: Can I be in Blue's play too?

Steve: Of course! We can be... (in a deep voice) the three bears! I can be Papa Bear!

Bunny: And I can be Mama Bear!

Tickety Tock: And I can be Baby Bear!

Steve: (to Blue, deep voice) Right, Blue! You can be Goldilocks!

[Blue runs over to the table and there are three bowls, she pretends to eat the first bowl of porridge, only that it's too hot, then she pretends to eat the second bowl of porridge, only that it's too cold, she pretends to eat the third bowl of porridge which was just right for her, she leaves and at the same time, Steve, Bunny and Tickety Tock arrive]

Steve: (in a deep voice) Somebody's been eating my porridge.

Bunny: Somebody's been eating my porridge!

Tickety Tock: Somebody's been eating my porridge and it's all gone!

[Blue is seen sitting on a big chair which was too hard for her, she hops over to a chair which was too soft for her, she hops over to small chair which was just right for her, she jumps off and leaves as it falls over and at the same time, Steve, Bunny and Tickety arrive]

Steve: (in a deep voice) Somebody's been sitting in my chair!

Bunny: Somebody's been sitting in my chair!

Tickety Tock: Somebody's been sitting in my chair and it's knocked over!

[Blue runs over to the couch with three pillows and jumps up on the first pillow which was too hard for her, she hops on the second pillow which was too soft for her, she hops on the third pillow which was just right for her and pretends to sleep just as Steve, Bunny and Tickety Tock arrive]

Steve: (in a deep voice) Somebody's been sleeping in my bed!

Bunny: And somebody's been sleeping in my bed!

Tickety Tock: Somebody's been sleeping in my bed and there she is!

[Blue barks proudly]

Steve: (in a deep voice) The end!

[They take their bows as the sound of applause is heard, Steve then goes into the living room]

Steve: (singing and dances like Elvis Presley) Well, now it's time for so long.

But we'll sing just one more song.

Well, thanks for doing your part.

Chorus: Doo-wah!

Steve: (singing like Elvis Presley)

You sure are smart,

You know, with me and you and hound dog, Blue.

We can do anything that we wanna do!

Thank you, thank you very much!

Kids: We can do anything that we wanna do!

Steve: (normal voice) Bye-bye! (chuckles) See you later!

[Blue and Steve continue dancing]

Kids: We can do anything that we wanna do!

[The camera pans away from the house as the door closes, Blue appears from the window as she waves goodbye]

Kids: We can do anything!

Face Says, "See You Later, Alligator"/Closing

[Nick Jr. Face Says, "See You Later, Alligator"]
