Steve: Hi, out there! It's me, Steve! Have you seen Blue, my puppy?

Kids: There she is!

[Blue comes out of her hiding spot and barks happily]

Steve: Come on in!

[Blue throws the ball over to Mailbox before throwing it back at her, Blue barks before running through the doggy door]

[Steve opens the door with Blue sitting on the edge of the thinking chair behind him]

Steve: Oh, hi, come on in! You're just in time to play hide and seek with us. Come on!

[They start walking]

Steve: This is one of my favorite games. (to Blue) Okay, Blue, are you ready?

[Blue nods her head and jumps over behind the toy box]

Steve: (covers his eyes and starts counting) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... (pauses for a short time, then counts again) 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Ready or not, here we come!

[Steve looks around and then turns to the viewers]

Steve: Do you see Blue? Over here! (jumps over to the left side as Blue peeks up behind the toy box)

Kids: No! Over there!

Steve: Oh! (looks at the toy box) Oh, over there behind the toy box? (gives a the ok sign) Right.

[Steve turns to the toy box and runs over to it, he puts his hand behind the toy box and Blue jumps out]

Steve: (laughs) Ok, let's play again! (covers his eyes again) 1, 2, 3, 4- (notices Blue whimpering) 5... (turns to Blue) No?

[Blue shakes her head no]

Steve: You mean, you don't want to play hide and seek again?

[Blue shakes her head no again]

Steve: Oh. Okay, well, what game do you want to play next?

[Blue leaves paw print on the right side of the screen]

Steve: Oh, okay! (runs over to the pawprint) We'll play "Blue's Clues" to figure out what game Blue wants to play next!

(singing)

We are gonna play Blue’s Clues, 'cause it’s really fun, yeah!

Steve: So remember, Blue’s pawprint will on the clues: Blue’s Clues. Let's go. (about to leave, but quickly stops) Oh, yeah. (chuckles) We should probably clean this pawprint up. Hmm, oh, let's play Simon Says to clean this pawprint up. Okay? Okay. (clears his throat) Pawprint, clean up.

[The pawprint quickly goes over to the right side of the screen, but is stopped by Steve]

Steve: Eh, eh, eh, I didn't say Simon Says.

[The pawprint returns to its original position]

Steve: Simon says pawprint clean up.

[The pawprint leaves for real]

Steve: Cool! Hey, you know what we need for Blue's Clues? Our...

Kids: Notebook!

Steve: Notebook! Right! Come on!

[Steve runs over to Sidetable Drawer]

Sidetable Drawer: "Blue's Clues"! I'm so excited! (opens up her drawer)

Steve: Ooh! (takes out the notebook) Here it is! You know, I can tell I'm really gonna need your help today figuring out what game Blue wants to play next. Will you help me? You will? Great! Come on!

[Start of song]

Steve: (singing)

We got to find a paw print,

That's the first clue.

We put it in our notebook,

And now what do we do?

Steve, Mr. Salt & Mrs. Pepper: (singing)

Blue's Clues,

Blue's Clues!

Kids: Blue's Clues!

Steve: (singing)

We got to find another paw print,

That's the second clue.

We put it in our notebook,

Now what do we do?

Steve, Tickety Tock & Mailbox: (singing)

Blue's Clues,

Blue's Clues!

Kids: Blue's Clues!

Steve: (singing)

We got to find another paw print,

That's the third clue.

We put it in our notebook,

And well, you know what to do!

Everyone: (singing)

Blue's Clues,

Blue's Clues!

Kids: Blue's Clues!

Steve: (singing)

Well, we sit down in our Thinking Chair

And think, think, think!

'Cause when we use our minds,

And take a step at a time,

We can do anything...

Blue: Bow!

Steve: That we want to do! (does jazz hands)

[Song ends]

Steve: Okay, let's go!

[Blue appears from the left side as she barks]

Steve: (to the viewers) Um, which way?

Child: That way!

Steve: Oh, okay. Let's go (points to the left side) that way! (starts walking while singing) We are looking for Blue's Clues, we are looking for Blue's Clues, we are looking for Blue's Clues. I wonder where they are? (walks into the kitchen to find Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper playing checkers) Oh. Hi, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper. Have you seen-?

Mr. Salt & Mrs. Pepper: (in unison) She's in the garden.

Steve: Thanks. (starts scatting as he goes into the garden, then starts singing again) With a quack-quack here, and a quack-quack there, here a quack, there a quack... (quickly comes back) A quack?

Kids: A clue!

Steve: (to the viewers) Oh! Oh, did you see a clue? Where? (looks to the right and left)

Child: On the duck!

Steve: Duck? (ducks down, but then comes back up) Oh. (chuckles, as he turns around and sees a pawprint on the duck) On the duck. Right. (walks over to the ducks in the pool) This duck must be one of Blue's clues! Heh, it's our first clue. Now what do we do? Right! We need our handy-dandy...

Kids: Notebook!

Steve: (takes out his notebook) Notebook! Okay, so, (opens the notebook) draw a duck. (starts drawing the duck) Draw a circle for the head, the bill, couple of eyes, the duck's body and its wing. There. A duck.

[An image of a duck pops up on the top left corner]

Steve: Hmm, so what game could Blue want to play next with a duck? Hmm, well, let's keep an eye out for more clues.

Shovel: (off-screen) Maybe it goes this way.

Pail: (off-screen) Maybe. But how about this piece?

Steve: Hey, that sounds like our friends, um... (looks over to the left side, then back to the viewers) Oh! Shovel and Pail! Let's go see what they're up to!

[Steve walks over to Shovel, Pail and Blue doing a puzzle together]

Pail: Oh, look! There's Steve!

Shovel: Hi, Steve!

Steve: (to Shovel and Pail) Hey, Shovel, hi, Pail. (to Blue) Hey, Blue. Uh, what are you doing?

Pail: We're putting together our new puzzle.

Shovel: Wanna help us?

Steve: (runs over to the viewers) Do you want to help Shovel and Pail put together this puzzle? Great! Then we can go look for more "Blue's Clues"! (runs back to Shovel, Pail and Blue and sits down on the ground next to them) Okay, so, what piece are we looking for?

Pail: We need a piece of the puzzle for right there. (points to an empty puzzle piece space)

Shovel: Can you help us?

[Blue barks as she nods her head in agreement]

Steve: Hmm, (to the viewers) which piece of the puzzle goes there? (points to the circle)

[Shovel puts down four shaped puzzle pieces]

Child: That one!

[Shovel puts the circle puzzle piece in the puzzle]

Steve: Oh! The circle puzzle piece!

Shovel: It fits! Look! Balloons!

Pail: And streamers!

Steve: Hey, I wonder what picture this puzzle will make?

Shovel: Let's find the next piece together too!

Steve: Hmm, which puzzle piece goes there? (points to another empty puzzle piece space)

[Shovel puts down four more puzzle pieces]

Kids: That one!

[Shovel puts the puzzle piece in the puzzle]

Steve: It Doesn’t Fit.

Shovel: What Should We Do?

Viewer: Turn The Piece Around.

Steve: Turn The Piece Around.
